David Wyman Kanaar
Postdoctoral researcher at UCLA specializing in the theory and simulation of semiconductor spin qubits.
About
I work in the Gyure Group at UCLA on gate-defined silicon spin qubits, with expertise spanning many-body electronic structure (Full Configuration Interaction), robust quantum control, and in-situ charge noise characterization. I completed my Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in 2024 under Prof. J. P. Kestner, where I developed pulse-shaping techniques for robust quantum gates.
Research interests
Device-level simulation of silicon spin qubits, valley splitting physics, pulse shaping and dynamical decoupling for robust quantum gates, charge noise sensing, and machine-learning-assisted quantum control.
